Role and Synopsis

Luke McGibney plays the protagonist Eddie, an alcoholic who is struggling to empathise with his mother’s death and brother’s wish to spread her ashes together.


Lawrence Monroe is trying to lay the ashes of his mother to rest... two years after her death. The question is why has he not done it sooner? The answer lies in the shape of his feckless brother Eddy. Or is it that simple? In The Urn, isolation, rage and need, together with a portion of pitch-black humour are combined to produce and challenging story of depth and complexity, as one man succumbs to the notion that he is an island.
